Many of our team members say that Good Shepherd feels like home, but for Rachel Holman, Good Shepherd is home.

Rachel has served with the Good Shepherd community now for 22 years, 12 of which she has lived on our campus. As a community resources team member, Rachel supports Brethren Court Admissions, the Villas (specifically selling, maintaining the wait list, and assisting new owners), and coordinating and purchasing items for the Eagle Creek General Store.

Rachel began working at Good Shepherd Home after she retired, thinking that she’d work for a couple of years and then call it quits.

“But as you can see, I am still here!” she said. “I love people and cannot imagine not being a part of this community.”

Rachel has three grown children—Mike, Cindy, and Becky—as well as seven grandchildren ranging in age from 11 to 42. She is also Great Grandma to four. Her family keeps her busy, and outside of her community at Good Shepherd, she’s enjoyed getting away from the cold Ohio winter for a while.

“I have been blessed to spend the month of March in the sunny south for the past 24 years!”

People like Rachel make Good Shepherd a warm and welcoming place where people become like family.

“Jobs in healthcare are so rewarding,” Rachel said. “Just to make someone smile or give them a pat on the back is a wonderful feeling, not just for them but it might make someone else feel good too. I cannot believe how this place has grown and what it offers today compared to 20 years ago. Time does march on, like it or not!”

Good Shepherd Home is a caring, Christian environment that provides a full range of senior living and nursing care services, including independent living, assisted living, home health, memory care, and short-term rehab. Whether you want to work at Good Shepherd or want to live at Good Shepherd—or both—we believe you’ll find yourself right at home in our community.
